5.1 Controller

5.2 General information and legal bases

This website is a non-commercial, privately operated information offering on the Jewish history of the Moselle region. Personal data are collected and processed only to the extent technically required and on the basis of statutory provisions, in particular:

• Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the trouble-free operation and security of the website);
• Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, where you have given your consent;
• Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for handling your enquiries.

5.3 Access data and server log files

When this website is accessed, the hosting service provider collects technically necessary data in so-called server log files. These are:

• IP address of the requesting device (generally stored anonymised or shortened),
• date and time of the request,
• name and URL of the file accessed,
• amount of data transferred and notification of whether the retrieval was successful,
• browser and operating system used (user agent),
• referrer URL (the previously visited page).

These data are processed exclusively for the purpose of providing the service, defending against attacks and statistical evaluation. These data are not combined with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The log files are deleted after seven days at the latest, unless longer storage is exceptionally required to preserve evidence.

5.4 Cookies

This website generally does not use cookies. No technically necessary cookies beyond simple session handling, and no cookies for analytics, marketing or tracking purposes, are used. A cookie banner and consent under § 25(1) TDDDG are therefore not required.

Should cookies or comparable technologies (e.g., LocalStorage) be used in future that are not strictly necessary within the meaning of § 25(2) TDDDG, this will be done only after express prior consent and will be set out transparently at this point.

5.5 Use of external web fonts (Google Fonts)

To ensure consistent display of typefaces, this website uses Web Fonts provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. When you access a page, your browser loads the required Web Fonts from Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). In doing so, your IP address is transmitted to Google. Google may transfer your IP address to the United States; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

5.6 Contact by email

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. The data will not be passed on to third parties. The data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer necessary for the purpose for which they were collected and no statutory retention obligations stand in the way.
